The village of Ktiš can be found at the foothills of Šumava. About 500 inhabitants live in this village and its settlements are situated at an altitude of 762 m above sea level. The life of the village is positively infl uenced by the activities of voluntary associations and organisations, such as the Volunteer Firemen Corps, Game-keeper association “Vilém”, Model Boat Club and also the local Sports club together with the Historical circle ”Bartoloměj”. The landscape in the surroundings of this village features by beautiful forests, downy lands and a large number of original small water courses. The former settlement was founded before 1369 in the location of the farm belonging to the Monastery of Zlatá Koruna.
