Lipno nad Vltavou

The village of Lipno nad Vltavou has recently literally become a paradise for a relaxing family holiday throughout the year. This tourist centre situated in the middle of beautiful nature of Šumava mountains off ers an incredible choice of leisure time activities in the summer but also in the winter, peaceful environment and perfect comfort. All services including accommodation and leisure time activities are concentrated in one place within few kilometres. This location is ideal for a relaxing family holiday, school trips or company events. Quieter spring and autumn season is an ideal time especially for seniors. The history of the village goes to the 16th century with a first written mention dating 1530. Nowadays, the village is spread by the dam of Lipno Reservoir but in the past it was situated in the Valley of the river Vltava. The original settlement belonged to the domain of Vyšší Brod and, together with the surrounding settlements, represented a small village known for timber industry because the main living of its inhabitants was timber rafting on the river Vltava.
